Background info

The U.S. current national minimum wage is $7.25 per hour. If it had kept up with inflation, it would now be $10.41 an hour.

If it had kept up with executive-level pay increases, it would be $23/hour. Current minimum wage translates to $15,080 a year.

32 states have a higher minimum wage than the federal level.

Many states have annual increases based on cost of living. In total, 24 states and 48 cities and counties will raise their minimum wages sometime in 2020.
